In 1974, a year after his comeback, C. Kunalan was training for the Asian Games when he strained his hamstring. "Oh no," he thought, for it is a sprinter's nightmare. But the sports council medical centre worked tirelessly on his injury and he recovered in time and won a 4x100m relay bronze.
