Tube delays: Metropolitan line suspends route into the City

The Metropolitan line has been partly suspended between Wembley Park to Aldgate, after Transport for London (TfL) reported a signal failure at Baker Street.

There are now minor delays on the rest of the line. Commuters have been advised to travel via the Jubilee Line if travelling in from the north west of London, and seek separate transport to City stations via other lines.

Meanwhile the Piccadilly line continued to warn of severe delays on a small stretch of the line between Cockfosters and Arnos Grove, due to the absence of train operators.

The news comes after Londoners faced significant challenges heading out of the city yesterday evening, when Hammersmith station was hit by flash floods.

After closing temporarily due to ankle-deep water, commuters were forced to get creative to make their way past the station by creating a line of stepping stones using chairs from a nearby Pret.

So Hammersmith station is currently hilarious (and ingenious! And kind😊) pic.twitter.com/m0qkcuLZ9p
